Challenge 3 : Orange 5G
Available gradually from the beginning 2020 on top of existing networks, 5G will provide personalised services to both consumers and businesses. 5G networks will have the capacity to manage 100 times the amount of devices than today’s networks.
Orange works with all stakeholders to enable social progress through technologies such as ultra high definition video, streaming, virtual or augmented reality, immersive experiences and so on. The latest content and services require ever more bandwidth and higher speeds to serve individual and business customers alike.
We are looking for new partners able to leverage our high-value 5G network:
5G IOT devices for home or on the move: most of today’s smart home and office devices rely on WiFi networks as not many are compatible with mobile networks. We want to deliver new value-added offers and user experiences compatible with 5G devices, such as security cameras, 360° video calls, air quality monitors, activity trackers and more.
Gaming: our 5G network will enable radical advances in terms of AR and VR experiences. We want to deliver the best of them to our customers, wherever they are.
Social networks: how can we provide the next level of ubiquitous communications using AR and VR services?
Remote collaboration: we have already demonstrated the benefits of mixed reality in remote team meetings, and we are currently looking for all kinds of software to help us deliver proven and ready-to-use experiences.
Event and stadium experiences: we are looking for new services able to surprise and delight spectators during sporting events or music festivals.
Edge computing platform: we are interested in solutions that will help us to manage, deploy or enrich our edge computing platforms more easily.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Our open innovation successes and track record demonstrate that to sign a business agreement with Orange, the start-up should have a product that is already sold to a customer or has the potential to reach M$ or more in short-term revenue: “Series A” or bigger in terms of venture growth.
